Staff Shop Steals! Part 2.

Here's a second helping of a bunch of stuff i bought with money i didn't have. £5 an item however does make it slightly more acceptable. I'm now hiding my bank card until payday :)

YSL Golden Gloss Lipgloss - Shade 42. This is the tastiest lipgloss ever! Tastes like apples :) nom. It's a shimmery pink colour but is virtually colour-less when applied to the lips.. I dont mind though as it gives a lovely sheen, is extremely moistursing and has the staying power that other lipglosses don't! YSL packaging always does it for me, beautiful, gold, perfection! May try and find a darker colour in this and see if i prefer it!

YSL Rouge Rose Lipstick in Rosy Coral. I have wanted a good coral lipstick for ages so when i spotted this i just had to have it. It is actually a proper coral colour, not as red as depicted in this photo and i cannot wait to wear it! Heard some amazing things about YSL lipsticks, i'm expecting great things.

I am always in need of eyelash glue. And i absolutely detest having to go on a full scale hunt before a night out to find one of those farty little eyelure pots. No, can't do it anymore! Thats why i decided to purchase this stuff. I sing praises about most Benefit Cosmetics so i am hoping this is just as good as other products i have tried. It is a decent size and has a proper applicator end so i think it will be less faff! and of course Benefit always draw me in with their cutesey packaging so that just sealed the deal. Can't wait to get my lashes on now!

And there we have it, another £15 worth of goodies.
I LOVE the staff shop!

Staff Shop Steals! Part 1.

As promised yesterday i'm gonna show you ladies what i purchased on my spree at the airport staff shop the other day, i am so unbelievably chuffed with what i got that i'm going back tomorrow to see what else i can find! Despite their already discounted prices they actually had a sale on, 3 items for £15 making everything £5, bargain right?! I'm going to split this into two posts, as there are 6 items in total and rather a lot of photo's! ...

So this is probably my favourite item. It's the Clarins Colour Definition 3D Radiance Face Powder - woaahh thats a mouthful! This was part of the 2011 Autumn collection so probably why it is now in the sale, however it was limited edition. I have read up on this little beauty and my understanding behind it is that it adds radiance and luminosity to the skin whilst cleverly balancing out any imperfections with specially formulated colours, hence the lilac! It does look deceivingly like a blusher but it's not extremely pigmented so i think you would struggle to use it as such. I adore Clarins packaging, very sleek and beautiful.. the added touch of the little red pouch just won me over. I have never purchased anything like this before but i'm really interested to see how it fairs. Review to follow.

Another Clarins purchase! Gloss Appeal in Shade 02 - Ginger. This is a neutral coloured browny/pink gloss with a hint of sparkle that i think i'm going to absolutely love, it's hard to capture it's true colour on these photo's so i will try and do a good review with better lighting and swatches. I honestly used to detest lipgloss but ever since my boyfriend invested in some Benefit glosses for me one christmas i've been hooked ever since. I think this will be perfect for day wear as it will go with most things!

I'm so chuffed with this little beauty! Givenchy "Le Prisme" Blush Glow. I adore blusher and wear it all the time; it's probably the product i experiment the most with when trying new brands. I had a Benefit blusher about a year ago that looked almost identical to this and it was an all time favourite so i'm praying this is just as good if not better! I'm hoping it is quite pigmented so you won't have to use too much and looking at the colours i think it probably will be. The packaging again is really sleek and pretty and i like how there's a little drawer with a compact brush in, very handy to just pop in the handbag.

What do you think of my bargains?
£15 overall! :)

Superdrug Intensive Hand Cream

I won't try and dazzle your minds with an in depth review about hand cream because let's face it.. it's just hand cream! but i did think this one was worth a little mention nonetheless.. It's only 79p from Superdrug for a start, i love how affordable their own brand products are and how they keep the packaging simple but still attractive enough to want to buy.

I would recommend this cream to any of you lovely's who are jetting away on your jollies in the coming weeks as it is 75ml, perfect hand luggage size so you won't get a ticking off at security. As most of you know i fly for a living and i can tell you that being up in the air seriously dries your skin out, especially your hands! so having a tube of this lovely stuff really helps to keep them moisturised throughout your journey and leaves you feeling a bit less like a dried up old leaf! It's got a really nice fragrance that isn't too overpowering and is nice and light in formula - no sticky hands!

I always have one of these little beauties in my handbag and i'm hoping that looking after my hands now will pay off in years to come :)

Coo Coo Body Splash - H&M

I picked up this Coo Coo Body Splash the other day when i was shopping online in the H&M sale and i'm really chuffed with it. I've wanted one ever since i saw Jess' post about them a few months back but every time i bobbed my head in they were nowhere to be seen! So when i saw they were 99p in the sale i got one straight away. I now wish i'd got a couple actually as it was a complete bargain but never mind..

This is the Pear and Cucumber fragrance which may sound like an odd combination but actually smells devine. It's so summery and sweet i just keep spraying myself constantly.. they can probably smell me across the pond! It's quite a big bottle (200ml) so it should last me a good while. I adore the packaging it is so cute and femenine and looks adorable on my shelf with all my other pretty bottles! Cheap, cheerful and definately worth picking up :)

MUA Lipstick Shade 5

This is definately my go to lipstick at the moment. I absolutely love it. From the MUA collection at Superdrug it is an amazeballs £1 so is probably one of the cheapest around. This particular shade is a very light dusky pink colour with hints of glitter - fear not, the glitter is minimal and you will not look like you are going to a 7 year old's disco!

It actually applies quite sheer compared to some of the other colours in the range, but thats what i like about it. You can really slather it on so your lips are nice and creamy without worrying that you've made a complete mess, you don't even really need a mirror to pop it on, very handy! I like how natural it is and i've worn it to work a few times recently and had some nice comments, just goes to show you don't always have to have ridiculously bright lips! I'd say this is more of a daytime colour and would suit paler skin tones.. and for 100 pennies you can't go wrong! :)

Space Nails

So i noted in a lusts post last week that i wanted the Razzmatazz glitter polish from Topshop, and in the end i decided that despite my cries of poverty, £6 was actually nothing and i had to have it in my life. When i got to the make up stand however i realised that it was actually a purple-y colour. Now don't get me wrong it was really lovely and had i had more pounds in the pocket i would probably have purchased it anyway but i had imagined it to be more of a silver and that's really what i wanted. Then i spotted Ice Crush which was exactly what i was after, i scooped it up and couldn't stop myself applying a coat on the way home in my boyfriends car.. much to his disgust! haha.

It's absolutely gorgeous, i mean seriously stunning. I have had a few glitter polishes before but none of which have looked quite as nice as this. There's a mixture of large and smaller glitter which gives a lovely effect especially when it catches the light. It's quite a thick polish and i applied a good 2 coats to get lots of lovely sparkle!

I decided to team Ice Crush with my new H&M polish that i snapped up in the online sale. £1.49 for a lovely bottle of Miss Stone Heart .. a kind of spacey grey colour that i really liked the look of. It actually applies a little darker than the colour appears in the bottle but i still love it. I applied one coat and was pleasantly suprised at how good a quality it was considering the teeny weeny price tag! I could of quite easily left it at one coat as the colour was so pigmented and it just glided on - but of course went for another coat to prevent chipping. Now i've had this on for a good 3 days and so far so good in that department, but i'm not sure if that's the Topshop polish protecting it on top - I will be applying it alone to see how it fairs.

Overall i am IN LOVE with this look. I feel like i've been to a salon or something my nails never look this glam! I think Ice Crush is perfect to add sparkle to a night out and really pops on top of darker colours. What do you think?

Got My Glamour!

Hello lovlies!

I've had a crazy busy week so far! none stop flying Tuesday to Friday and spent most of today catching up on sleep! I did venture out at lunchtime to purchase some fathers day cards as i'd completely forgotten that it's tomorrow. Of course i ended up with proper naff cards because all the good ones were taken! i don't know why they insist on putting golf clubs and fishing rods on everything too.. my dad doesn't like either!

Also treated myself to this month's Glamour which i've been worried i was going to miss out on cause it took me sooooo long to buy it! I'm usually a Cosmopolitan reader and i tend to find one every month that a passenger leaves onboard which saves me a few pounds! but i really wanted the little Benefit sample that comes with this month's issue of Glamour so i decided to purchase it myself. There were 3 different ones up for grabs but my local tesco only had the one with the Porefessional sample! I don't nessecarily have problem pores but you can't go wrong with a good primer and i've heard it's amazing! I may be tempted to buy the full sized bottle .. we shall see :)

Only had a quick flick through the mag so far but i'm absolutely loving it up to now, some great articles. I can see this being my new fave.

Anyway gonna slob out for the rest of tonight, have a lovely bubble bath and indulge in some weekend telly but i've got sooooo many things i want to blog about so i'm gonna get cracking with that tomorrow!

Purchased a few bits for my upcoming giveaway too :) exciting stuff!

May Splurges

Helloo everyone!

I realise this is the first time i've posted in about 3 weeks, i sincerely appologise for my lack of blogging!
I was really ill for about a week so basically just lay in bed feeling sorry for myself with my friends box set.. Then i've been pre-occupied with work - had loads of flights and also been trained on another aircraft which was another load of exams! (booo) I am now officially legal to fly on the B757 though, go me.

I have however found time to shop, and probably have steam coming off my bank card the amount of money i have spent in recent days! I thought i'd share some of my purchases with you. Most of you will realise that a LOT of the things i've bought have been quite popular amongst the blogging community lately and after reading such good reviews i've wanted in on a lot of it! other things i've just seen and liked the look of myself.

I'm absolutely loving the MUA range at Superdrug at the moment, after purchasing a bronzer and some of the lipsticks i was intruiged to try some other bits and bobs and with such a cheap pricetag on everything there really is no excuse! The nail polishes were £1 each and so far i have tried the bright pink one on the left and been extremely impressed with it! It was a such a good consistancy, really light and easy to apply and the colour pigmentation is suprising. I expected to need a fair few coats of this but it's safe to say i could easily have left it at just one. Fantastic little polish for a quick fix night out or something but of course stays on much better with a 2-3 coats. I am yet to try the other colours but the green is very unusual!

------

The eyeshadow palette is the heaven and earth palette that i have been recommended countless times and thought i might as well give it a go. It was £4 and is gorgeous mix of neutral colours that will be great for day wear and also to build a smokey eye for a night out. Really excited to experiment with this one!

Most of you bloggers will be no stranger to this foundation and i've been dying to give it a go. I have read such good things about Rimmel Wake Me Up that i have high hopes for it working wonders on my own face! It was £8.99 in Boots, however they are still running the offer where if you spend over £10 on Rimmel products you receive the Scandaleyes Mascara for free (worth £6.99) I'm a sucker for a bargain and quite fancied trying this mascara as the brush is similar to my trusty Bourjois Volume Clubbing so i went for it, picking up a Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses in Nothing But Nude (£5.99) to seal the deal. I have invested in a lip pen before and found it really dried my lips out so when Rimmel brought this one out with the balm end i thought it really solved a problem. I am forever trying on the testers whilst i'm out and think the colours are fantastic but opted for this deep orange colour as i have pink lip products coming out of my ears! Again, very excited to get trying all of these - especially the foundation!

I've needed a new foundation brush for ages and i've read a lot about the Real Techniques range and how good they are. I ideally wanted the Buffing Brush but as this only comes in a set and i didn't particularly want the other ones in it i was reluctant to part with £21 for it so i opted for the more traditional foundation brush instead. This was £9.99 from boots and i am promising myself now that i will take good care of this one! Hoping this will make my new Rimmel foundation look that bit more fantabulous!

I've jumped on the BB cream bandwagon. This was on offer in Boots for £7.49 so i snapped one up in the light shade. No idea how this will work on my freckled skin but we shall see! Review to follow.

I actually used to hate Converse! When they first became popular i thought of them as like "weird mosher shoes" haha. Being the super cool kid i was wouldn't have been seen dead in a pair. However they've really grown on my over the years especially the lower ankle ones and i've been lusting after a white pair for ages! These were £40 from Schuh and the girl also gave me a cheeky 10% student discount even though i'm not a student! making them £36 :) lavly. They are so comfortable and will get a lot of wear with shorts and dresses this summer! I've also got my eye on the blue pair too!

This picture really does these jeans no justice, they are MUCH nicer on! They're "soft skinnies" - £40 from Topshop and you might be suprised to know that this is the first pair of jeans i have purchased in about 4 years. I just stopped wearing them when i stopped being a size 8! Because I couldn't find any that suited/fitted me properly so just gave up looking and stuck to leggings! But came across these today and decided to give them a try. They are such a flattering cut for those of us who don't have washboard stomachs. I find Topshop jeans all seem to be designed as "hipsters" and this does not suit me at all, emphasises my hips and tum all wrong! these sit slightly higher around the waist, i wouldn't say they are "high waisted" as such but they do definately come up higher and the soft fabric means despite them being skinnies putting them on and taking them off isn't a complete battle! I love love love these jeans and can't wait to wear them with my Converse!

------------

And that ladies is where a lot of my money has gone, i have also made some purchases online at ASOS and H&M so will post about those when they arrive..
I've suddenly found myself willing payday along again haha. Whoops!

Hope the rain is finally clearing off for most of you
We were actually almost free of the wet stuff today :O

I will be doing some reviews on all this stuff very soon once i've got to grips with it!

Much Love

Shopping Success!

Today i hit the shops.. again! Mainly in search of items to match my ladies day races dress. I haven't photographed this yet as i don't think one on the hanger will do it justice, and i'd much rather show it you in all it's glory on the day :) so stay tuned for that!

I was on the hunt for shoes, a bag and some jewellery today and managed to get all of these and also pick up a few other random bits along the way! Primark was a big hit for me again today just can't get enough of it at the moment! So kind to the purse. Here's my haul..

4 Pack of Rings - £2.00 Primark

Gold Headband - £1 Primark

Bangles - £3 Primark

Bracelets (to be worn as fancy anklets) - £1 Each Primark

Multipack Studs - £2.00 Primark

Yellow Cardi - Reduced to £5 Primark

Aztec Cardi - Reduced to £5 Primark

Heels - £12 Primark

Gold Watch - £14.99 Argos

Gold Clutch - £7.99 H&M

Gold Dolly Shoes - £14.99 H&M

Famous Blush - £6.50 Superdrug

------------

As you can see A LOT of gold going on here as most of it is for my outfit! I'm really chuffed with the cardi's, Primark seems to be reducing all of their winter stock at the moment so there is some bargain's to be had! The aztec one actually looks a lot like one i had my eye on in Republic a few weeks ago, but for a fraction of the price!

The blush i was absolutely over the moon to find, it is by far the best blusher i have ever used and when i'd tried my friends i was desperate to get my hands on it but was told it had been discontinued! :( me and my friend hunted high and low at every Superdrug store and it did seem to be true until today.. when we spotted a handful of them on the shelf. Turns out they aren't discontinuing it after all so happy days! :) i will be doing a proper review on this soon cause i absolutely love it.

Hope you have all had a lovely day and are looking forward to the bank holiday weekend! i am working the whole of it so bohoo. But it'll all be worth it when i have next weekend off for ladies day!

Happy Early Easter!
